Thuis van Buuren is part of the young, dynamic, multi-disciplinary art collective, Sober Industries. Their body of work consists almost entirely of self-made, bespoke products from both commissioned and personal projects. Thijs is an industrial product designer and embroidery artist. His creative process is greatly inspired by movies and music as well as all the little details daily life presents; sketching and developing ideas in order to create a deeper meaning that is not always instantly visible. In doing so, he produces unique, handcrafted, multi-dimensional designs appealing particularly to those of independent thinking and counter-culture. Their work is indeed far from Sober!
